My wife and I are on a road trip from California to Peoria, I'll to attend her 50th Class Reunion. Of course I brought my trusty metal detector. Matter of fact I brought 2 of them. My AT Pro and the CTX 3030. We have been in Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, Missouri, and Illinois. On the way to Illinois, I had an eyeball find of an 18" 14K gold chain in Texas. What a shocker. I was walking over to a sign so my wife could snap a picture. Laying right on the ground was the chain. Beautiful chain, completely in tact. My lovely bride is wearing it as we speak. It is a loop link chain. My first ever chain, and definitely my best eyeball find ever.

Today I hunted a baseball field, just the sidelines where the people set in folding chairs and watch the game. I'm reasonably sure this little field has never been hunted. In about 45 Minutes I found 29 quarters, couple of dimes and a nickel. I plan on hitting it again this evening after the ball games are over.

Hunted a school built in the 50's yesterday. Little disappointed only found a couple of dollars. Looks like all the local Peoria hunters have hit it. Today I plan on hunting some median strips in an old abandon area of town. Will post more later as the road trip saga continues.

A road trip and being able to stop and hunt on the way is my dream trip! Looks like yours is paying off real well. Keep hunting!

What's your return trip route? If you come through Idaho, let me know. I'm headed to Oregon on June 20th for about 2 weeks though.

Would love to come to Oregon, but that's a little out of the way for this trip. Maybe next time. Thanks for the post.
