After working the sites we ran into El Paso for the night in a motel. Next morn another sunrise greeted us as we pulled out.

As in detecting, I figured the best producer of the day was the place to go over some more. So we went back to it, fortunately not too far away. I pulled my magnet around and picked up a bunch of nails at once , looked down and saw a spill. Spills are rare, usually just one or two nails are found at a time.

Here's the magnet bottom after a couple passes.

Here's another site that we worked over. When you see lots of red bricks you know something went on there.

Lastly, we picked up some RR buttons - off the coveralls they wore. I haven't cleaned them yet but they look very much like the ones in my display from previous trips. The front piece of the button is usually brass, keeping the piece in good shape. But the back piece is usually iron , which rusts away some. However, the iron is picked up by the magnet and the brass isn't so it works out well.
What a great trip - got several more trips like this in the hopper also. Steve in so az
