RNB Battery pack

According to the tracking info looks like my Santa gift from Joe at RNB will be arriving today or tomorrow. It hit Tampa at 2 AM. Came at a great time looks like because of the swells this week ill be doing some dry/wet sand kicking. Id like to add a couple more golds before the year ends here. Where did this year go? Yesterdays hunt we intended in getting in the water but it was a wash machine out there and we gave it up. I had told a guy id look for his rather large Claddagh ring, size 16, so we did a little sand sweeping hoping it was there. After 4 hours it was a no joy on is ring...... but i managed a sweet... i mean sweet PT950 8.4 grams with almost a full K diamond with add ons. Looking forward to the new battery ill be using the SE the rest of the week and let you know what i think.

Gee Dew,
You using up all the good fortune before the end of the year so you will get a full budget in '13? Ya know, use it or lose it?
Between you and the Mudpuppy, I feel like the blind guy in the art gallery. It is nice to know someone found the lamp.
Well, I am blessed in other ways. I have a great wife, great kids and great grand kids (really good grand kids, probably not great grand kids for a year or more:clapping:).

keep us posted on how your battery performs for you.

Also...how's about a pic of the sweet ring you found?

Just got the battery...... got it smoking. I love the charger with a light.... cant believe they didnt put one on the Xcal charger. Thats a sweet looking set up...... didnt realize i was getting a car charger..... man im feeling the love. Oooo Joe that was a hint about the Xcal charger. We really needed this upgrade. They came along with coils and headphone that are treating us right ..... but it was time for this. It irratating to have to carry a back up battery or buy AAs all the time. I like a battery that will NOT drop below half while im out there. Wooo was that thing almost full? The light was red when i plugged it in but seems like in about an hour it was fully ready. Whats the recharge time on these? Thanks again Joe.

Hey Dewey,

Glad to see you got your ML-2900 System you won!

The answer to your question on how long it takes to charge the ML-2900 is less than 2 hours when it is run down.

You can top it off whenever you like or run it dead and re-charge it.....It don't matter, It won't hurt it at all....

Happy long Hunting

Well i tried out the pack today. I decided to do some dry/wet sand hunting just to see how well my new prize worked. Im impressed... i mean impressed. Im normally the first guy to complain about produces we have to pay to much for or dont work as promissed. I like this battery. The normal ML battery pack fully charged is 11.55 V. These start out at around 12.60 V...... after 4 hours of max use it reads 12.23. Thats still more volts than the ML rechargables fully charged.

I was hunting today just above AM, 25 manual sensitivity, Gain 9, and used the PP a good bit..... i didnt spare the juice. I felt confident i was getting good depth during the entire hunt .... not just the first hour or so. Makes you feel like you just put in some fresh AAs. For those using the Explorer or ET..... this is an upgrade we all needed. I hope RNB does it for other machines because most of the rechargable ive used were one step above worthless. I may let it set a couple of days now not on a charger and see if we get any discharge.... then off to the beach again. I do a ton of detecting year round here in Fl as do a lot of guys down here. Im more of a water guy now, but with our detecting season it will still get a good work out. I also want to use it to get it drained down to see how long it takes to charge on the car charger.

Anyone that gets one of these is going to say how did i ever do it with the other rechargable. They are a real step up.

By the way got the ring appraised.... close to $7000. Now thats a lot of equipment. Ok i left the battery on the counter and tested it like i said, it read 12.23 today still a week later. I wanted to see if leaving it set made any difference.... it didnt. A lot of times rechargables will. Hunted 4 more hours today. My settings were IM 31, Gain 7, deep on, sensitivity 24.... so its obvious i was using some juice. Got it home tested it.... 11.98 thats still better voltage than the 1600 fully charged. Im also not having the feeling of loosing depth half way thru a hunt and i dont have to carry a second battery that i could loose or that might also be flat. Im getting old an dont always remember to plug it in.... dont have to now, heck i can even put it on the car charger if i want on the way to the beach. Once i get it down..... ill see how long it takes to charge it with the car charger as well. Anyone need anything tested on this thing? Im going to see when this thing takes a dive.

Congrats on the ring dewcon. That will pay for some nice detecting items.:beers:
My RNB battery has been great and I still haven't had to recharge it. I was hoping to make some finds posts while using it but I just got busy with work again.

Hi Joe,
I've just joined the detecting fraternity (secondhand E-TRAC should be with me this week) down here in Australia. I had seen something on this battery elsewhere as I researched the detector I would purchase. Have you a distribution down here, or when I open the wallet again, should I contact a US distributor?
Thanks,
Alan

Nice ring....
I really like my RNB battery also I have around 9 1/2 hours on it so far and it still shows full on the power meter. Hopefully I will be able to get out and put some more time on it this afternoon.

Hi Alan,
Get a hold of http://www.detectorbits.co.uk/ in the UK.
They will take care of you!
