RNB Battery on the Excal 1000.

Greg (E.Tn)

Hello.

Just wanted to report my results with the RNB battery on my Excal.

I put about 27.5 hours of actual use on the battery, then when it got too cold to get in the river, I started parking it out in the yard with it on, just letting it run, with volume and threshold audio set on high. I'd let it run for anywhere from 3-5 hours at a time and kept adding it up.

So far, it's at 56.5 hrs and still running.

So, I don't know exactly how long it WOULD operate, and want to emphasize that the last 29 hrs or so of operation was with audio and threshold running pretty high.

Hope this helps;

Greg

Hi Greg,

The EX-3000 for the Excalibur Machines is 12.5volts 3000 mAh

But the NiMH run for less than a third of the time. That translates to more frequent charging and disconnect/reconnecting the battery connectors - ware and tear. Also there is no worry about charging on a long weekend hunt and having to recharge with the EX3000.

At 69.00 charger and battery and the perks of this setup I will be buying another come spring. The only bad this battery has created is I was leaving my machine in my truck cause no need to charge often, but I have corrected that due to seeing several broken windows of late.

RNBs are worth every penny. Compared to the cost of the detector, time and travel its not that much really and if you can factor lighter rig means longer, focused hunts and reduced wear and tear on the old body may save doctor and therapy costs...
Why wouldn't you spend a little to get a lot? What a great investment!

Not an issue... I have a Real balance charger. Faster that the stock. Again. I use LIPO with my other hobby stuff. They all swell. Good luck.
