River Hunt

The weather has been very dry so our local river came down quite a bit. I planned to walk out to a small island and hunt there this afternoon having the knowledge that there had been an old wooden bring from the town over back in the 1800s. After walking across, I discovered that someone had it posted "PRIVATE PROPERTY - NO TRESPASSING". I didn't let that deter me as I decided to hunt in the water instead.

I wish that my find for the day had been in better shape... my first silver 3 Cent Piece with an 18?4 date on it. Can't make it out. If you look hard at the upper picture, you can make out the roman numeral 3 in the center of the coin. Very well worn but a welcome find none the less!

It's worn but a great find nevertheless!

Wow...nice. I have never found one of those yet. Yeah, too bad it wasn't in better shape. Oh well. It still COUNTS!

I wish it was nice but, I guess I can say I found one.

I'll have to go back and hunt around that spot after my trip.

Congrats. Duke, it is always nice to hold something that old and think of all the places and people it has crossed paths with. HH.
