Ripley -- Allentown West Virginia

I am going down there for a few days to Gay West Virginia witch is between Ripley and Allentown..
Helping a friend move the house sits on about 50 acres.
The question is was there any military action there from CW or Revolutionary war.
I don't know if i will even have time to hunt but a quick history lesson would be nice. Thanks Mike
