Rings, gold and others items besides coins?

So, I have gotten pretty good at finding coins, but aside from a matchbox, hotel room keys, a weird button and a flask top (and bottle caps, of course), I am yet to find a single ring with my Ace 250. I found a good spot off the beach where people gather for photos of weddings, proms and the like and it appears to be an area that has not been searched in a long time. Any advice, or do I go about my business with my setting at 4-5 sensitivity and be patient? I have done my practicing on the beach, so this will be one of my first grassy areas. For example, do you guys search in all metal mode or do you hunt specifically. Probably taking a day or two off then back at it. I'm having my Segway shipped to me so I can scout new areas quickly :)

Thanks for any insight as always!

Gols shows up where you least expect it sometimes. I have found gold rings in the outfield at baseball diamonds and rings in shallow water where people throw frizbees and tend to throw a ring with it every now and then. Good luck......seek and yee shall find.

Wifey hunts with Ace 250 in jewelry mode sometimes and often does better than I do with a higher end machine. When looking for gold on the beach we both usually notch out anything below foil and anything above penny. That's where gold jewelry usually shows up on the discrimination scale. Remember that gold rings will often fall into the pulltab range, so you'll have to dig a ton of pulltabs to get the gold rings too. Best of luck to ya'! Happy Hunting!:)
