First hunt of the new year this morning found this 3.5g,14k with nine little diamonds a couple inches down in the beach sand.TID 6
I've only been out a handful of times this past month with nothing to show but a bunch of coins...Only thing getting in the way is making time to hunt in between all the other stuff to do. Weather has been fantastic, shorts and tee's during the days... 73 this morning at 7AM and just hitting 84 now at lunch!!
Hope you all had a great Christmas and have a prosperous MDing New Year!!

That Is a really good way to start out the new year. Congratulations.

 Great start Bob!

The ground here is too tough to attack with a pick now, not that you'd want to be seen with one anyway. So keep at it Sir.....we in the north live vicariously through you from now 'til spring.

That's a nice way to start the new year.

It's a lil too cold here for MDing but just right for icefishing

Nice find Bob!

Thanks All.....
My first post was three years ago on December 28, 2011 at 11:15AM., at that time I had been using an XT 30,(one detector/one coil), for several years that I received for a Christmas present. I knew nothing of this or any other forum at the time and set off on an adventure that has yet to end. My home is and always will be with you guys here on the Xterra page. It is here that I have asked, shared, learned and received so much great information from so many great people that has helped me enjoy this hobby as much as I do.
It was just a few weeks after joining FM that I came to the decision to upgrade to a XT705, and to this day think it was a great decision. Other than coil problems, two HF DD Elliptical coils replaced for broken ears, and a shorted out rechargeable battery that had me thinking it was the detector, it has been a great MD. It's going in this week for its end of the three year warranty check-up so that I get another 2 years extended warranty from Kco. Something that I hope to not have to use considering that my XT30 is still going strong after 9 years.
If any of you ever plan to visit St. Petersburg, Florida, let me know....I would more than enjoy meeting you and showing you around.
