Ring

I found this ring and can't seem to get a good picture of the inscription but will try and get another picture later if necessary.

By the picture, you can tell the size. It's very plain, bronze colored, and has the word "Germany" inscribed on the inside and nothing else.

Any clue? I didn't get to do a whole lot of Googling on this but I did some and didn't really find anything.

No idea, but would try a simple acid test, to determine if gold, but gold usually has a few hallmarks.
Nice find, hope it's the real thing.

If it's really light likely costume.

btw to get a simple close up of a coin or ring, simple put a10x loop in front of camera, it does wonders on small
hallmarks.

From my research ... this seems the best info I can find:

Items produced including costume jewelry made before and up through 1948 are marked:

I would go by the activity in the area and decide if it was likely to be dropped recently or not. And the depth would help indicate how long ago it was dropped. Even if it is a pre-WWII ring it could have been dropped recently. The info you found does not tell how the modern Germany rings are marked. Could it be the source just had no idea how post-1990's rings from Germany are marked so they assumed the possibility that it could be post-1990? I'm guessing it is not gold or silver since the source calls it costume jewelry. Either way, its just as hard to find as a gold ring so keep digging those and eventually you'll find a gold one!
