Went for a spin on sunday evening with coastwise (he promised me he'd wear his gloves this time) and Spanky. I was a little late and they were visiting till I got there. We began our spin together at 730P into a 1042pm -0.7L. Winds were still raunchy se 10-15. Targets were pretty scarce for all of us, but managed to scratch out .25 in clad, a .925 ying/yang charm, 2 ferrous hoops and 3 rings. Ring #1 is missing the stone and unmarked (acid tested around .925), #2 was nitro for sure, pink stones and looked like diamonds. Then I noticed the split in the back (junk). Then the last 1 I scooped up was gold colored, but real light. coastwise and Spanky had already left and it was looking stormy, so I went to the truck and got the loupe out and no mark. When I got home Huntress told me it was aluminum and gold plated. From beating yer chest to deflation. Oh well it was great to be on the hunt with my pirate mates.

This afternoon, I get a call from Spanky, who had been trying to call me to invite me to hunt this morning early. I went to bed at 3am, so I was sleeping in. He informed me that he had found 2 14k rings with diamonds this morning and I missed out. I would have never found them though, because he found them on the towel line, which I never hunt, but I was happy for him. John also found gold and silver rings in the lane with Spanky this morning. Inspired by their success, coastwise and I went for a spin in front of a upscale resort. Not long after our arrival, a spanish gentleman came over and told us his young son had lost his gold bracelet and would we help him find it. Naturally, being the gentlemen that we are, obliged him. He obviously did not know exactly where he was because we burned an hour looking for it and no bueno. coastwise schooled me and I ended up with $1.02 in clad and no jewelry today.
