ring question

found this ring sunday morning at a park. steady 14 vdi reading. its a toe ring. my ? is , can the ring be silver even if the vdi is not in the high 70 s or 80 s. i know gold will register in the low vdi s because i found a small ring ,a while ago, stamped 10 k that was a solid 8 vdi. this one has no stamp .it had a little tarnish on it so thats why im leaning to silver and not gold.

[size=large]i'm only guessing here but if it's silver then it should be much higher vdi.if it's not gold then it's some cheap ring that looks good.
i'm assuming you air tested and it's still low vdi. some base metal.

99% of the time, any precious metal will be stamped to that affect. Silver also usually doesn't tarnish much. That's why those old Silver coins look so pretty at the bottom of the hole! HH :pulltab:
