Ring Help

I hit on this ring on the top of a sledding hill behind the house in a park, its marked 925K on the inside is the K the makers mark? It has 1 diamond in the middle 2 on each side would they use real diamonds in a silver setting?Oh yes it was about 5'' down, any help or thoughts are greatly appreciated..

I don't know what the K stands for. They do put diamonds in silver!! Its not as common as gold but it happens. Worth checking. Take a look at the setting,,,,if it looks real nice it is a clue that it might be real,,,,,,opposed to a cheap type setting, which would be a dead giveaway it is not a diamond.

I just did a quick google on the K in 925. No definite answer but I think it stands for 1000 th. Instead of .925 with no K,,, it is 925K with no decimal.

correct 925k no decimal no space it seems very well put together i will haul it to a jewelers as soon as i can, thanks for taking a look at it....

I just did another search on this. It's amazing there is not much information on it. 925k gold in the google search,,and several things do come up suggesting it is gold plated,,,over silver!!

I would be taking it to a Jeweler,,pronto,,they will be able to answer the question about it and check diamonds.

white gold..careful at jewlers.. Don't tell him origin and just get him to evaluate diamonds..

why? Have you run into jewelers who treat you badly since they know you found it metal detecting? I have been upfront with the few jewelers I have went to & gotten a few things done for free (free cleaning/polishing & diamond-testing).

I'm still working on it lol my discovey 2000 is busted i believe just chatters like crazy every time i turn it on not sure whats wrong with it but I'm keeping my chin up and hoping to get back to hunting again soon thanks for checking in though i really appreciate it great people on here for sure...HH...

Discovery 2000 or 2200?? I had a 2200 before,,its a good unit. Have you been in the water with it?? IF yes it could have got water in the coil and sometimes after it dries out,,,, it is fine.
Other than that you have a coil problem,,either connections or coil itself.
Good Luck

If you appraise the ring ,,,maybe it will be enough to buy a coil.LOL

it says discovery 2000 purchased it from radio shack about 6-7 or so but its okay thanks for the luck and no water always dry land....

925 usually means sterling silver. 22kt gold is.9166- or 22/24(24k gold is pure gold).

well my wife of 25 yrs fell in love with it so theres no need for me to find out if its real or not if she's happy I'm happy, ill just have to get me a new detector down the road son just graduated high school and wants to go to college to be a music teacher so ill do my damn best to make that happen even if it means i cant afford my hobby but thanks to all the help you guys have been and h.h.

sorry been a little busy but the diamonds are not real just real silver setting onward i go for my ring search

Ok A retraction 925K is a common mark indicating .925% Pure silver. K for Carat..

Yes Diamonds are mounted in Silver on occasion. A diamond tester will quickly acertain if they are real...

My mouth wnet off and it took a few weeks for my brain to catch up to this thread and correct my misstatement.
