Hunted for the better part of the day as I will be working for the next seven days straight. I hit the fair grounds parking lots for a couple of hours first thing in the morning as the fair is in full swing this week, not much there but a handful of clad. Next stop was a tot lot at a large park spent about an hour there alot more clad but that was about it. Next place was a outdoor city pool I have been trying to get permission to hunt inside the fence but as yet have had no luck so I had to settle for working the area outside and around the picnic tables, more clad I could only dream what lies under the grass inside the fence. Next stop was a local Indian hospital that has been around since the late 1800's I figure here is where the good old stuff will be. I drove around for a few minutes and ran across a security guard and I introduced myself and asked if I could hunt on the property and he said sure as long as I don't dig any big holes and I assured him I would not. I hunted here for about two hours just trying to get a feel for the area and check what kind of signals were here oldest coins were mid 60's penny's as I did not want to make deep holes I kept to the shallower targets maybe over time when I go back I could explore some of the deeper stuff. Had quick bite to eat for lunch about 1;00 and it was back at it.Had lunch at a park circa 1940 so I hunted here and at a school on the same block for a couple of hours more clad these areas are both hunted hard by everyone with a detector in town found more clad then the park started filling up I guess there was going to be a wedding or something there. So off I go to another spot, next place I went to was an old school it is the oldest school in town and I have been trying to get into this site for a couple years now, no one was around to ask for permission to hunt so I was back on the move again. It was about 3;00 pm I figured I'd hit one more spot before I call it a day I have been eyeing an empty lot that they pulled a house out of a few years ago, I tried to hunt it a while back but the old man that lives next to the lot has some big noisy dogs and I could not hunt for long. Well a few days ago I noticed the house where the old man lived was empty also, so yesterday I tried it again I was pulling early 60's penny's right away so I figured any silver signals will be old coins about halfway through what was the front yard I hit a solid silver signal at 6" down as not to mark any old coins I dug a nice big deep plug pulled it out of the ground flipped it over and stuck in the bottom of it was the edge of a ring. I took it out of the dirt and thought it was fake as it was small but very heavy I cleaned the inside of it and could read sterling wow what a ring it is probably only a size 6 ring but it weighs 11.5 grams it looks to have forge marks or hammer marks on the bottom of it and a wave pattern on top. This is the heaviest silver ring I have found yet ...........................Thanks to all who read this long story sorry for the length but I figured I would tell it as it happened thanks again and Keep Looking Down
