Had a pretty good weekend. Saturday after work I went for a quick hunt just down the street from work. There is a vacant mobile home park that had just been vacated I had hunted it a little before and had not found a whole lot. There was also a row of small shack looking houses that had been torn down here also and this is where I started hunting. First find was 61 cents sitting on top of the ground did not even need to detect those as they were in plain view, next signal was a 65 penny that got me thinking maybe I would find some silver if there was any older stuff. The very next signal was a shallow silver signal at 1 to 2" down I took a handful of dirt off the top of a small pile and ran it over my coil and had the signal in my hand. When I opened it up there was a silver coin edge poking out of the dirt when I got rid of more dirt I saw a 1964 quarter in very good shape in my hand. When I got it home I dropped it in a cup of water to loosen up the rest of the dirt after soaking for a few hours I ran it under the faucet and was very glad to see how good of shape it was actually in it looks like it was dropped yesterday instead of 40 or so years ago. The 17th ring of the I found on Sunday I got out about 9:00 am and had planned on hunting all day or until I found silver coins or any ring silver or gold I started out at a very large busy park and after about an hour and a half had only a handful of change to show for it which is not bad at all this park has 4 tot lots I hit them all and only came away with change. Next stop was a park with 4 soccer fields that has to date produced 8 rings for me so far this year and last I was there for about 45 minutes and my son called and asked when I was coming home it was getting pretty hot out the high was supposed to be mid 90's and it was probably close to that then so I told him soon as I find a ring or some silver he told me good luck and hung up. The very next signal was one of those iffy signal you just have to dig to find out what it is this signal jumped from tab to silver and back again as I passed my coil over it. It was very shallow as the depth did not even show on the D's screen I probed the grass and hit something solid and pulled up an edge of the grass and there was the edge of a ring I pulled it out and it is a nice thin silver and black hills gold ring. It was pretty beat up it was bent and twisted and I didn't know if it could be straightened. well it took a little work and some heat and it looks brand new my co-workers that saw it first thing this morning can't believe it is the same ring. ..................sorry the story got so long .......good luck to all thanks for reading and Keep looking down!
