I have not posted any finds on here in a long time. Today has changed that!! I have been living here for 11-1/2 years. Never knew that I would find anything like this. I am not going to get into the whole story but, it was a hot day and I was tired. I grabbed my detector I keep in my car and went out to detect just to clear my mind. It has a 5.75 coil on it for now. I detected part of my yard I have never swung a detector on near our woods line. I found the one on the left first, then I found the mate to it 20 minutes later on the right. I posted a little more about today in the Beep and Dig forum here on FIndmall. Anyways, after a long hot day, this was a totally awesome end!!!

Those are a sweet find -----were are you going detecting tomorrow ??????-------------GH-------------------------after1--------------

Congrats on some great finds!

Awesome finds, but what exactly are they ? I mean they look like US Army something but what? never know what you gonna find.. the only seated coin i ever found was 10 ftout my back door and less than a half inch deep... found several years after hunting my yard many times..it was close to steel wire fence that my other units couldnt hunt so close to...

These are called bit bosses. They were insignia placed on the sides of horse bits during the civil war to claim what army or side the horse belonged to if one was taken or went astray.
