I,M just getting back into M T took up golf for awhile.
Got my Explorer SE with FBS slimline coil in 2004 never used it
I'm in Yuma AZ so ground not frozen
Is that a good coil 4 coin shooting?

There is nothing wrong with the slimline, but the newer Pro, SEF or 12 inch coils are a little better. They get better depth, separation, and are a little more sensitive. I didnt use anyother coil until i got the SEF. Your biggest problem you may run into is HOT rocks. Once you learn what they sound like... piece of cake. Ive never found the need for a small coil with the SE.

Welcome back to the hobby...and have fun.

The slimline coil is very sensitive and some people like it.

For coinshooting I would try it for a while with the slimline...and if you feel you are making some good finds and not having to deal with too much falsing...I'd stick with it.

If however you feel you can't keep it stable...and experience too much "chirping"...you might want to consider a midsized coil like the Sunray 8"..SEF 6 x 8...or Minelab 7.5".

The larger coils like the 11" pro coil...12" Sunray coil...and 10 x 12 SEF coils do separate coins in trash pretty well for bigger coils too and would serve you well if you want to cover more ground while still being able to separate coins from trash at some sites.

It all depends what's in your budget...and also whether or not you like the performance of the slimline coil. If so...then I would leave it on and have some fun with it.
