Ribbon connector replaced. Could this have been my lack of depth problem?

Detector fixed with following work:

10" DD Loop tested / Passed Added bolt kit as requested Replaced ribbon cable connectors Reset and calibrated detector Checked functions / Passed Tested and Inspected SHIPPED

Could the ribbon connector have also caused performance problem like depth? I hope that
recalibartion also will help. Any experiences with sending the V3i back to factory and returned with what results?

Thanks

It's not likely the ribbon has anything to do with your depth ability. The recalibration will help if it was out of calibration before, but depth has more to do with your ground and adjusting the detector to best handle it........ IMHO

Thanks Larry,

Does anybody have experience with a factory recalabration and what was the result when the detector was returned?

In most cases the detectors are not out of calibration. It is done just because the detector is in the shop. In more cases the coil will be out of null. Sounds like you had neither problem. If you had a problem it wll be reported to you.

In many cases the depth problem is due the newer users expecting all the readings to be exact and passing deeper targets. Deeper targets can have their VDI vary. At older sites dig all positive readings to gain experience. The V3i is a deep seeker, I will not argue what detector is the deepest, mostly because I don't know.

Hope it was out of calabration and this is a silver bullet to my solution in my mind due to lack of depth.
