Thanks for all input! Do you use it mainly for fresh water? How does it compare to the atpro? Thanks HHH

I did well with it as far as gold rings.
When I first got it I went practicing in a soccer field to learn the pinpointing.
It needs motion to pinpoint.
Found a nice mans 14k gold ring and clad on that first hunt.
Had to change the 9.5 floater coil to the yellow 12 inch neutral coil
as the original develped falsing.
The three leds are really good as far as your choice of digging targets.
The only thing that needs improvement is the leds lights are hard to distinguish
in full sunlight.
If they only had made them bigger or sticking out more that would
really make it easier to see them in the sunlight.
Still have it and use it in the freshwater.

I'm new to the game and picked up a ID 300 after doing a bit of research for a decent sand / water detector. Right now what I would like is some helpful suggestions on how to ground balance this machine . I am having a heck of a time can anyone give me some " tricks of the trade " hints ??? Thank you in advance for your time and expertise.

What kind of problems are you having with the GB?

I thought the dials would simply set in the GB but my first time out the dialing in directions seemed to be to sensitive to the touch . Very loud high pitched sounds which proved to be distracting but I did luck into a somewhat of a silent mode giving me some detecting time to find a heavy metal cap to a pole of a chain link fence . Instead of a hit and miss / trial&error method I wondered if I could find a bit of a shortcut to zone in the GB . I know I must be patient but am eager to do some hunting.

On all vlf detectors with GB you have to find a area that is clean so to speak so adjusting is correct, and target id is the same, maybe turn down sens a bit that might help. I don't have a BH but GBing is the same theory to make the ground invisable and metallic objects visable, hope it helps HHH
