Reunited with a tungsten wedding band after 48 days!

To all who requested that I post a photo of the tungsten band owner - here it is! That's obviously me on the right and in the background is the Scripps pier where this guy Bret lost the ring. Bret provided additional detail about how he lost the ring. He was bodysurfing at La Jolla Shores on Labor Day for about an hour, debated going back in to the beach and commented on how loose his ring felt as he slipped it over his knuckle towards the end of his finger! A wave hit him in the back right at that moment and it was gone! He returned to the area twice with a borrowed metal detector and searched for a total of about three hours to no avail. Thanks for all the kudos and support! - Jim

That makes for a good ending. I know the feeling. Here is a picture of the guy I found a wedding band for.

How long had this guy's ring been lost awhister? How did you end up tracking him down? I'm curious about how many more times this might happen to me - I've been detecting for 2.5 months.

Here is a copy of the story about how I found it. It was featured in the Garrett Searcher. You should submit yours. It is a great story. I am one for two. I have a Nuns ring that I can't find the owner of.

It's always good to be able to find the owners of lost items, well done. I was detecting in a wading pool (salt water) early one morning and was approached by a council bloke asking if I'd found a gold ring, I had'nt at that stage. The owner of the 18ct custom made wedding band and his wife then turned up and asked if I would search for it, they were English tourists here in Australia on holidays. I did'nt own an under water machine so the council had kept the pool empty for the search. The tide was going to burst the gates and they gave me 5 more minutes to try and find it. I found it in the very next sweep, down about 3" in the sand. It was a beauty weighing in at a healthy 8 grams, and very special engraving, their bands were both matching. It was a great feeling to help, no reward except the look on their faces, which was enough. I know own an Infinium LS which is a beauty, Surfers Paradise holds many treasures, until next time, God Bless, Nugget.
