Greetings all
We made a return trip the the area where I found that Walking Liberty Half a couple weeks back to keep lookin for the actual buildings were located. Took a couple friends with me this time and wouldnt ya know it, my buddy Gab found a silver quarter (1963) in great shape. We found tons of trash alond with some old pins that we are cleaning up to see what they actually are.
The rush came from my buddy Doug getting a nice high tone on his Explorer and when he started to dig, he pulled out a peice of leather......He yelled accross the field to us to come over and we doug up this old leather satchel. It was totally falling apart and we all thought he had found the Mother Lode Unfortunately, the only thing in the satchel was an old metal file which was cool.....
As for me, I found a bunch of copper pennies and a straight razor that is in AWESOME shape and a bunch of stuff we are still trying to ID. My next trip will be to the historical society to see if I can find any old pictures of this area or even a map to show how the area was set up. All in all, the Etrac is working AWESOME in this area and seem to handle all the trash great. The old pins were a shock today and hopefully there will be more to come (maybe all the stuff that was in the satchel)
