Return to the battlefield spot - mucho lead!

My pal Matt and I returned to the battlefield site where we found 150 bullets a few weeks prior. We thought we did a good job at cleaning it out then. After, a friend of the landowner came out and dug about 100 more!! Thinking there couldn't possibly be that many bullets left, we went back. To our surprise, we had another 150 bullet day. Admittedly, by the end of the day, the bullets were few and far between and about 9 inches deep. We may have got the bulk dug.

This is just about a 50' by 50' area in a well-hunted battle site. We just got a lucky permission on a small patch of dirt that had not been detected before. This spot is right in between the two battle lines where some intense fighting was occurred. I found 85 bullets our first trip, and 89 plus a button this time. Matt found over 60. My elbow still is sore from this one! :stretcher:

Man that's amazing. Great job.

Great spot buddy.

Great finds...... I NEVER get tired of digging CW lead. It seems like there would be a bit more brass items in the area ????????? Thanks for posting. CCH
