Instead of fighting with all the weeds and muck while digging with your water scoop, I use my orange pin-pointer and my hand. You can zero in on the target and retrieve it much faster.

Either way it works better than using a scoop.

I wait till the stuff dies off, Seems last year it started disappearing in Dec...then reappeared in late May.. the muck I just use a smaller coil, like the 7 1/4 for the Excalibur.
