results/prayer request

Well I did go to a park today but just found junk.
List
2-pulltabs
1-fishing weight
5-pennies
1-christmas light
1-something that loks like half a ring but its not

and the prayer request is that on the way home we decided to stop at the swimming pool to MD.
But right befor we got there the car stalled and we couldn't re-start it. So its in the repair
shop right now. The prayer requaet is that the bill wont be too high. And yes I did start to
search the pool area but found only pennies. I will continue my search tommorow.
Also here is a picture of the park pond.

your picture is fantastic but a bit on the big side. If you can get the pics you post resized to 600x480 they will fit everyone's screen better. I try to get my pics down to 300x240 (or 300x something under 480). This also helps those who are on dial up so it doesn't take as long for a picture to load on their systems.

Don't know of any swimming holes like that around here but sure wish I did. Probably lots of goodies in the water. Hang in there even pennies are better than nothing. We are happy just to get out and detect. We don't always come back with a big haul (though I have done pretty good lately - I still have had times when I brought back a lot more junk than anything else).

Well the water is a swiming pool so nothing in there but there is grass in the area
and man is there alot of targets in it. It will take me all day tommorow to search it.
But who knows there may be some rings or jewelry in there for me.

Is that a look only lake - or do they swim there ? If swim, think about when they might lower the water. I have done this a couple times with great success. Steve in so az

Hey Toby,

Welcome to the forum. That picture sure is inviting, makes me want to take a dip, right after digging all the gold and silver of course!:)

Praying that it is something simple that kept your car from starting, and that your bill won't be to high!

We have parks here with lakes and detecting is allowed on the sandy areas and in the water but not on the grassy area where people put their towels and stuff down. Of course we know there is a lot lost in the grassy area but the reason the parks people don't want you to hunt in that area is because people have been known to dig into and damage the underground sprinkler systems which is expensive to repair.

Even with my detector being able to 'notch' out the sprinkler heads so I would never find one, I have to stay out as an example because if I went in that are others would as well - even those without the benefit of my detector's capabilities.

So be sure to check with any parks people to 'see' the policy. I have found those who work for the parks misinterpret their own rules or make up their own. Having a written copy on you when detecting in a park helps. Even getting an email from the head of the parks department explaining where one can and can't detect is useful. I've had parks people tell me their version of the policy and I present them with a copy of the parks department head guy's email
so they know their boss knows what the policy is and they need to heed their head guy's definition. Always be courteous. Gets you places.

Just something to keep in mind Toby.
