Resisted the temptation to trade my Sovereign GT.

You now how it can go. It starts getting close to the end of the season and you start browsing catalogs and advertisements, and your mind starts to wander. I will stick to my guns as said in a success story of mine on the Minelab website."The Sovereign GT is the most versatile high-end machine you can own."

I want to thank crazyman, critterhunter, and Monte for their advice which helped me see the light. Plus a review of all my finds continued to convince me that I have one of the best machines out there. A Sovereign GT. I have finally realized that the only detector worthy to consider dumping the GT for is a new version of the Sovereign.

Take care

Rather than dump it You could still compliment it with an Etrac

Yup! I plan to compliment my ETrac with a Excal though lol.

I complemented my Sovereign GT with a SD2200v2 and then a Explorer SE Pro2.

Jason,
You mention a "NEW " version of the Sovereign after dumping a GT ....What " NEW " version are you talking about ? ...... Am I missing something here ? .......Jim''

I am standing by my plans now to just waterproof my Sovereign and make it a beach machine ...... There are far less chances of me running into any masking issues there and I think that the Sovereign just may be the ticket on the beach and in shallow Saltwater ....I"m probably only going from knee to waste deep , so it's not like I"m diving with it ....It will be an Excalibur of sorts, that the coil can be changed on .....Jim

I complimented my SOV GT with an etrac and I now want to compliment them both with an Excal!! That has got to be near perfect set up.

Almost, a whites duel field in the middle for good measure just in case you get sanded in
