We stopped on the way home in this little town and we normally do tourist thing like spend time in antique shops....I couldnt help noticing the chairs up and down the street on BOTH sides for about 6 blocks..i asked a native and she said that people put their chairs out to have a good seat to view the 4th of July parade.....apparently the chairs are out there at least 3*5 days early and she informed me (i asked) that fights have been known to happen over seating reservations (fee free)..i guess its just like a rock concert where people actually camp days early to get a ticket....any ticket

One sumers day a new trash collector drove down main street, he began at 630 and his work went unobserved for a good long time. After folding the chairs he and his mexican helpers tossed them onto the deck of the compactor. Thats about when an early riser came out and saw the goings on... Needless to say a lot of folks wondered who piled up all the chairs at one end of the street. Some one really wantd to reserve the first blocks of the 4th of july parade..... Or so they thought...

then work shifts reserving their spot for watching the parade. Some folks will also stake out camping spots at some of the major city parks during a few major holidays like Easter. Kelley (Texas) :)

i didnt know about that practice to get better viewing seats......all new to me
