1936 Hwy Dept. maps of Illinois that shows schools, buildings, fairgrounds and all kinds of information. It is part of the 1940 Census. Here is the 1940 Census site and you can click on the maps section from there: http://1940census.archives.gov/

You will need to know your ED number for the area you are looking at and those numbers can be found here: http://stevemorse.org/census/unified.html
 
Thanks for the research site. It looks like a good one. When detecting is slow during the winter it is a good time to research areas to hunt next spring and summer. I'm doing like Santa, making a list and checking it twice, looking for hunting spots not rotten but nice. MERRY CHRISTMAS
