I have been reading all the historical books on my old hometown in south,ga and have found some interesting information. I found some old Indian villages that
were bought by white settlers and they are I believe in private owners hands. They are listed as historic, but not listed as state parks or landmarks off limits to metal detecting. I would like to check these areas out, but am at a loss at how to find the owners. would I be better off to go to the county court house and try and find the owners on a plat map? what's the best way to find out who owns this property?
