Report on rechargeables..

Some months ago I bought a charger with batteries for $9.95. The other day the batteries in my 250 finally drained down to one bar and I recharged them, so these batteries lasted for a very long time. I never kept track of the hours but would venture to say these batteries lasted four times longer than alkalines. I'm sold.

Good info Bill. the way I see it, I've saved a ton of $$ using rechargables.

These start out at four bars when first charged and installed then drop to two bars after about an hour or two of use, then remain at two bars forever until they drop to one bar.

Yeah mine drop to two bars and stay there forever. Guess it's the difference in batteries. As long as these lasted I would have used up three or four sets of alkalines.

Do you keep them on the charger until you are ready to use them or once charged, will they hold a charge until used. I'm just starting to use them and was wondering if they weakened while carrying them in my pouch. I guess I'm thinking about the batteries on my cordless drills. They will loose their charge after a while if I don't keep them on the charger. It might depend on the age of the batteries-I don't know.

because the CXIII uses "C" cells and I don't think I can get the output from rechargable "C"s. I am getting well over 50 hours off each set, far more than the 30-40 that the manual says to expect. I made the mistake of letting the bars go down below 3 and I started to get distortion in the headphones and it started falsing.
