"Report on my "gold" bracelet -

steve in so la

Well-known member
It's not gold - had the jeweler test it and he said it's base metal. I had tested it with my kit , which showed it to not be metal also, but some people have said that the acid can go bad over time. So I wanted to see - glad they are still ok. Also, notice how much of a dent the stamp made in the metal. An honest jeweler wouldn't stamp it that hard - or would have put it in the wax mold before it was cast.

And here's the false 14 K stamp. This is the second jewelry piece I have dug over the years to have this false stamp on it. The jeweler said they come from Mexico.
So if it doesn't look right, it might not be right. If I have dug 2 of these imagine how many are probably out there looking like gold and bringing big bucks ! Steve in so az
