Report of Super Bowl ring lost in the Chesapeake bay

Below is pasted from an article. 9 feet of water is deeper than I wade into. For any scuba folks in the area who might be interested in looking for it; I think there is enough information in the article to get a contact who could give you pretty good location information; that is if they really want it found since it has been replaced by insurance.

"Tweet Interested in a treasure hunt for a 2013 Baltimore Ravens Super Bowl ring? Well, if you have some scuba gear and would like to go diving for it, you might find one at the bottom on the Chesapeake Bay. Per the team

But by law, you have to return it to Toni, who would then give you the insurance money in exchange for it
.

I think by law the ring gets returned, and the insurance company gets there backup ring back, you get the bill for the tanks, time, and wear and tear on your equipment. Found a few pics of the ring and I am guessing but maybe 2 ounces of 10k Gold?

Melt would be 1132.oo, now that would pay the bill. Like Scuba detector said, ask the insurance company what the finders fee is.....then go from there.

When I was posting it earlier, I was saying to my wife that one would want to contact the insurance company to see if there was any compensation for a return before going after it. If there was no compensation potential, it just might be a neat enough find for someone to do it, get 15 seconds of press coverage and get pictures for their scrapbook.

That suckers down in the mud..at the edge of a dock, with a ton of other trash....unless a fellow used a dredge, it would be a tough one to find through conventional diving/detecting..
