Reporting from Bastrop County, Texas, where I am working on the wildfires....it has been an interesting trip so far.......
I have found some interesting finds, with the highlights being an 1854 quarter, a pristine 1915 Barber Half, several Barber dimes, several mercs, relatively few Rosies, an 1866 shield nickel, and numerous Indian Head pennies, dating back to 1889 as the oldest. Usual suspects of wheaties, 2 buffaloes, and lots of trash. A few toys here and there as well.
Today, I have been invited to search at a home that was built in 1834, and is still intact. Never been searched though there is a local story of treasure that is supposed to have been buried here. In 1950's some old money was found in the stairs of te house. I will be reporting on my adventure here, as it progresses. It is covering 2 acres of land.......I will share what I find.
That being said, a local homeless man here, found $71,000+- in bills and gold along the Colorado River. Here is a link to the story....

Being a private investigator, I hunted down the story, so that I might find out how old the money was. I have been told I can get onto the property where the money was found, and I will be doing that as well. The information in the paper is wrong, and it was found on private property.
Also, I have found out that it is farily modern, consisting of bills, and Krugerrands. That would take it to the 70's or so. Nonetheless, it was found. Unfortunately, the homeless man involved is now in jail for criminal tresspass, and is reportedly a crackhead. The police have the money and are waiting for someone to step forward to identify it, by telling them where, how much, what kind, bag found in, etc....After 30 days, it reportedly will be given to the homeless man. He reportedly has retained an attorney.......LOL Bet I know where that guy's money will be from......
Anyway, I will continue to report in....periodically, as I have time. I have been here two months, and hunted some. I have not been on several ranches yet, as the rains made access to old mid 1800's cabins impossible.........but I will get there......
So, end of report number 4.........rags to riches.
