Replacment shaft for Sovereign GT

GuerillaBill

New member
Now that I've gotten used to the factory shaft with the foam grip handle on the GT, I'm thinking about getting the same shaft and using it on my Excalibur.

Problem is, I can't seem to find a source for the full Sovereign GT shaft and foam handle.

I can find plenty of straight shafts, but since I belt mount both the Sovereign and the Excalibur, I don't need a straight shaft.

I just want the factory upper and lower shaft with foam hand grip.

Anyone have any suggestions where I can find and order one?

Thanks

Bill

a black straight shaft with foam hand grip and foam padded (removeable) arm cups. u should be able to buy from any good minelab dealer.

the older ones came with S upper shaft as do the excals now.................if u are referring to that blue piece of junk.............i probably have two or so brand new ones i will give u for free............if that is what u mean.

u can buy the foam black GT grips from any minelab dealer.

let me know

I'm thinking about replacing the stock foam hand grip with something better. Perhaps I can slide off the foam grip and slide on a new rubber hand grip for a bike. The foam one is falling apart on me and I'd think something rubber would flex a little less and thus give me less fatigue when hunting.

I made this one from a grip off a 4 wheeler. Then added a (push on/push off) all metal-disc button at the top.

I've used this rod for years when hip mounting. It's been used with Minelabs, Fishers and Whites detectors through the years and now use it with my Elite with the 10 inch coil. The upper rod is from a Shadow X2, the middle rod from a Whites Classic III and the modified arm cup from a Fisher 1236X. It's very sturdy and lightweight.

I use this on my Advantage. This is a 2 piece blue Minelab rod. I'm not sure but I think it came from one of the older Minelab SD gold detectors. It breaks down into a small package.
