Replacing Excal II Headphones

John(Tx)

New member
I made a post on 6/7 about the excal sensitivity. I mentioned that my excal would make a warbly sound. Today, while playing around with machine, I noticed that when I straightened out the headphone cable the warbly sound would go away. Sounds like maybe the cable is trying to give out. How hard is it to replace the headphone cable at the control unit, do I just remove that part of the control box and don't need to touch the other side? Where can I get the parts to fix it, maybe putting in a connector so I can use different kinds of headphones? thanks for any info. John

John..... you need to drop a note to OBN. Check some of his Utube videos he might just show how its done.

I have determined that I might have a crack on one of my coil wires. Whenever I hit a target the sound is a little broken, makes a static sound. If I straighten out the cable where it connects to the coil, the broken sound goes away. I straightened out the cable and taped the cable to the shaft and now it sounds ok. Might have to change out the coil in the near future. Thanks for the info and pic on the headphones, that will come in handy. HH
