Replacing Excal II headphones

John(Tx)

New member
When you replace the headphones on the Excal do you just undo the wiring from the headphones themselves or from the control unit? Thanks and HH

Just the head phones if your doing the peltors .what you are doing is transferring all the guts of the yellow hp's to another shell trying to cut as few as wires as possible, think the last time I did a excal I only had to cut 3 wires. Make sure these are soldiered well.........Nothing is touched near the pod unless you are installing some grey ghost or other aftermarket hp's then you must open the pod

Just posted a set on Classifieds for sale. Not sure I want YOU to buy them though, as you are in Texas. Could be BAD FOR ME!

my Excal will be out of warranty in about 5 months, that's when I plan on doing this. Since you do this type of work, I will keep this in mind. The headphones (yellow) it has now are ok but not great, adding the ike plug sounds like a really good idea. Thanks, John
