Repeatable Signals?

Two questions.

Many times what's going on is you are sweeping over the edge of the target instead of the center. That is why it is always a good idea to pinpoint the signal good, then resweep over the center to see if the original signal changed any. Also, especially with iron targets, when you sweep over the target.... as the coil moves away from the target center, a lot of times the machine will give a good response as the coil edge leaves the center of the target.
Any iffy target can be quickly confirmed if it is junk or diggable by simply assuring that you are sweeping over the target center from at least 2-3 directions and using very short sweeps to keep the target within the coil edges. Hope this helps you out <IMG SRC="/forums/images/smile.gif" BORDER=0 ALT=":)"> HH, Mike.

I guess I understand what your saying, but How does the machine know if it should repeat or not. Why doesn't it repeat on a bad target yet repeats on a good target?
Do all detectors have this feature?
