removing the coil cover

New member
Can someone please tell me how to remove the coil cover without braking the shaft?I need to clean the sand out of the bottom.
Thanks

Just work it off slowly... I use a screwdriver.. then seal the cover back on.. I use a waterproof silicone sealant... I never get anything in now...

I will surrender them very soon. Max has been trying to talk me into it, for years. VERY soon, my Excal will have Loctite Marine Epoxy on it and the coil cover will be history! No more falsing and no more cleaning it out either, I like it!

I grab mine in the middle of the cover, near the shaft and as I pull it to take it off, I use my finger nail on the front and back of the coil and it will come off....might take a time or two.
