Removing coil covers

jabbo

New member
A method I've been using on both my spider and solid covers gets the job done without damage to the cover. Using a small block of wood and a small hammer. Tap,tap, tap the block lightly all around the edge of the cover. It moves a little by little. Works every time.

That saves me from investing in a hammer and a block of wood, as well as the frustration of removing some that are difficult. Also, it reduces the amount of weight out on the end of the rod, and since we usually search with a coil

I just got done wiping the Aces down, and removed the cover off the stock 250 coil which always fills-up with powdered dirt. It (the cover) won't be going back on.
