removing coil cover

Does it like I used to however they have come out with a lightweight version that will only fit newer CZ's( and I always though CZ 8 inch coils were the same) its very lightweight slips on and off easily but tinfoils idea works if your patient..If you have a new one to replace the old cutting one of the sides carefully will make it easier but ruin the old coil cover..

You just tighten up the coil bolt real nice and tap around the edges...comes right off with no damage to anything. Outdoor Outfitters makes a thinner but really tough coil cover for most Fisher detectors now including the F-75. I have had one of these for a 10.5 and 8 inch CZ coils along with one for an F-75...they come off real easy for cleaning but stay put...HH
And I can be called Fisher Old farts. I Still regret selling my 1265 and 1266. Man that was a long time ago. Going on 23 years with Fisher Machines. Dan has longer then me with them. Dan knows more about the Fishers and how they hunt then anyone I ever saw. Any advice he gives you, pay attention to what he is saying. Well I am back to Lurking. Nice hearing from you Dan. I been hunting the water cause it is too hot down here to dirt hunt. Even that wares out this old guy (64). HH

But with the old thick ones, they were a problem...
Tinfoil has a good way.
Once I have the old thick one off, I clean and take a knife and scrap all the rough edges, also check the coil for rough edges.....
Someone posted one time using a hair dryer, but heat is not good for the coil...

I have tried one on an older CZ6A and just couldn't get on however slipped right on the CZ3D coil...I understand there are different runs on coils and thin coil covers so my advice go to a fisher dealer with your coil to assure a proper fit with this type of coil cover which slips on and off and although thin provides all the coil protection you need..
