Remote DIsc/PP for the Minelab Excalibur

Thinking about putting a kit together for the guys that want to do there own remotes. Come up with a fairly easy way of doing it, almost a bolt on.

Left side is the remote 2 pin connector, right side is the headphones 2 pin connector

Yes Sir, give me about 3 weeks to get setup. I'm going to fix the kit so the New Gray Ghost Amphibians will be apart of the kit.....if wanted. that way it's even closer to a bolt on....All you would have to do then is the inside connection on the PCB..
Here is a quick video I did for Aaron in PA, he has got the first kit and I want to see what he might run into and when I do the next it will address anything that maybe missed on this one....

I am interested in a kit with headphones. Send me a message when you are set up.
Thanks
Rick

You never cease to amaze me Joe. Looks like you hit it out of the park AGAIN, rounding the bases and heading for home. Great job ! :clapping:

Almost there, I did this one for one of the forum members. A diver who does video's, so I'm excited in seeing his video's and the remote with GGA's

Hello Old Beach Nut,

My name is Anthony Hall from central California. I was hoping I could get a Excal II remote disc/pp kit. Can you sell me one? Or can I send my Excal II to you for the upgrade? Thanks, Anthony

Great job !!!!
Hey old beach nut. I would also like to get this set up done. The head phones and the
pp. So when you get set up or if i can get on a waiting list would appreciate. How do you do the headphone
change over

For the headphones and the remote pinpoint Joe lathes a brand new 2 hole Excal end cap.
He wires in a remote PP connector onto the board. Then the pinpoint switch gets plugged into this connector. The new headphone has it's connector already coming out of the new end cap. That gets plugged into the connector where the old headphone snaps right out.
For anyone contemplating just swapping out the headphones - you will be able to remove your old end cap, snap out the connector and snap the new connector coming out of the new end cap right into the same spot. NO wiring...NO soldering...NO fuss. It is less than a 10 minute job. Joe will have a "how to" video so you will see how easy it is to do this yourself at home.
I've never needed my yellow Koss replaced by Minelab but what I'm hearing is that it's about a $250 cost with postage PLUS you will be down from 2-4 weeks for the repair and shipping turntimes...and you know you always need the repair right in the heat of detecting season!!!

Thanks Guys, I will be set up come Sept for the remote PP conversion. My hunting season will be slowing down so I will sell the kits then, But I do prefer doing the complete Remote PP Gray Ghost conversion myself for I fell better about the work that needs to be done. I will put you guys on the list...Also thanks Barry and FSA, you guys have helped a lot in the battle to make the Excalibur the best machine on the beach...Anyone else interested please PM, thanks joe

I am interested in purchasing the Remote Disc/pp for my Excalibur II along with the Grey Ghost Amphibian Headphones,

Can Someone guide me in the right direction other that Kellyco. I have seen video that Beechnut has posted. I know I can do this if I can get the parts.

Someone Please advise,

thanks, Cliff

Good luck, while not hard if you know what your doing if you make a mistake your controls will flood, once there is any salt water intrusion on the motherboard it will continue to destroy your board.

I do a few kits in the winter if your interested in waiting. But

Kelly Co does a very good job and I think a very fair price.

I am not knocking Kelly Co. I agree with you, they do good work, Their service department and customer service is great.. They currently have my Excalibur to do the modifications on, I am getting a little impatient and thought I would explore other options and possible cost in case their modification drags on thru summer. I understand that since Barry died the modification process and turn around time has slowed down some.

Sorry to hear things are going slow there, I would hope it be no more then 30 days.. which seems like for ever in the summer but it will be well worth the wait. Most of my gold this year I would credit to hunting in PP, digging faints and having the op of checking in discriminate, also a good set of head phones is right there also... Good Luck, and Hopefully not to much longer....
