Funny you should mentions 45's Steve... when Vicky and I met she used to manage the 45 dept of the music store we worked in; it'll be 29 years ago this July :) Time sure flies when you're havin' a good time :)

And, yes, they WERE 45's! We had our 40th reunion LAST April, but wasn't able to go for health reasons. Oh well, there's always 50!!

Take care, and God Bless!

the old crank up Victrola. My parents had one

Reminds me of a story (maybe I've told this before...) A friend of mine at work got a record player for Christmas. Looked like an old fashioned one but it played LP's, 45's and 78's. While he was checking it out, his teenage son looked at it and listened and said, "Wow, that's pretty cool!" Then he asked, "How do you change tracks?" My friend lifted the needle and put it to the next song and he son yelled, "NO WAY!!!" :) Times have changed :)

So did my junior high youth group at church...with tons of 78s. Wonder what happened to all of them? Probably the same thing that happened to all my 50's and early 60's baseball cards -- oh, well.

When I was in Denver we had a birthday party around '93-94 for a young AF airman just out of basic training. It was at the '50s Club on Lowry AFB (now closed). There were poodle skirts hung on the walls with pictures of drive-ins and car hops, and even some 45s all around -- alot of nostalgia. Anyway this young man turned to me and asked why the holes in the CDs that were hanging up were so big! I almost knocked him off his chair (kiddings) and explained they were 45 rpm records, which cam after 78s and 33-1/3. He just shrugged his shoulders. Now THAT makes a guy feel old!
