Remember What?

Long time ago I read an article about a ring finder that would land hunt
for only one signal from only one Teroro that would be a gold ring only.
By chance does anybody remember which machine that was? In the article it said the guy would hunt all day for that signal but he did pretty good without alot of diggin. I must be getting board.

Last I heard Gene was doing real well with the Golden Sabre II. It gives a mixed audio over most foil, while more solid conductors in the same range would hit well. He was pulling gold out pretty regularly from Florida's athletic fields.

There was also a guy named Onionhead that used a Tracker IV in Tone mode with the disc turned all the way down so that everything gave a high tone. Said the audio was good enough that he could tell the difference in the sound between a tab and a ring. He was doing real well ring hunting in Denver's city parks.

Ring any bells?

Hey Mike, have you been able to duplicate that with a GS? Maybe some guys have a knack for hearing a certain something different while the rest of us can't...interesting none the less. I still think if anyone could come up with a detector that could somehow give us an edge while hunting the lower conductors to find rings, even if it was only good 4" down, they would sell like hotcakes.

Steve,

Yes, I have been able to duplicate the broken tone on foil with my GSII but I don't understand it yet as the settings don't make sense.

I got permission from the beloved to build a test box for the balcony so maybe soon I'll get a better handle on what is taking place. I've been comparing the Golden Sabre II, F-75 and DFX for inland gold hunting and it is a time consuming process for a guy with limited detecting time.

Most nice condition GSII's have been selling for somewhere in the neighborhood of $140 to $200 when you can find one.
