It is getting too close. The days are getting shorter. The water will start to cool down. We need to start thinking about our safety in the water. This past week end I was in the water. The water was warm, But are air was cool. I started to get a bad chill. I knew to get out and change my cloths. It is not worth one of us to get hurt over a ring. I know most all of us have never met, but we all know each other some how. Not to good to hear about one of our members getting hurt or something very bad. Non of like that. So , lets not for get about OUR SAFETY,.. Good luck and Happy hunting... KEN :stretcher:

I am looking forward to cooler weather. It has been in the 90's every day for a while. The heat kicks this old mans backside pretty good sometimes. I am more apt to die from heat stroke than hypothermia. Just purchased a New Excal and hoping to hit the water next week.

The water is the best place to hunt when it's hot, but it won't be long and the water will start to cool off. A man close to the place I detect at the river asked me about finding his wedding ring, but the day I went it was too cold and I was wearing my chest waders. Plus, it was slightly over my head and I didn't have my waterproof headphones and couldn't do it. Hope I can get back in touch with him and find it before the water is too cold again. I got my grey ghost amphibians last week and haven't had a chance to get them wet. I did get into a situation last winter where I got too cold and was really struggling and couldn't figure out what had happened until I got to shore. I definitely learned a lesson and will be more careful this winter. I do intend to hit the river hard this winter, but will not get past waist deep after the water temp drops and the cool winds start to blow. I need to find a couple pairs of underarmor socks. My feet were the coldest thing last winter. I have the tops and bottoms in underarmor, but socks are next on my shopping list. HH.
