Remake coin or what?? need info

Found this at a local school. It looks alot like silver, weight seems about right and cleaned up real good.

I believe it is a remake ,, but I really dont know. Any one know what it is a remake of, what coin,, and maybe a picture of it.(the real thing). Any info will help.
 
Looks like a silver Spanish cob or copy of one. Copies will often bear the text "COPY" in small letters somewhere on the coin. Nice find either way!
 
The Spaniush "pieces of eight," or cobs, have been copied over and over through the years. The copies always look a little too rounded in the impressions, a little too "fuzzy" if you will. Even well worn cobs, by comparison, tend to be sharp in detail.
I'd reckon yours is a copy, but it couldnt hurt to do some research and get it evaluated by real experts.
