Today is a nasty, rainy day in my neighborhood, so I have a little time to share my recent hunts with y'all. I strapped in the stock 11" coil and hit two spots that I have previously hunted with the E-Trac, and have been absolutely pounded by other hunters. The dirt was moderately frozen in some shady spots, and one site was a pretty steep hill. In all the hunts, I was running Auto+3 Sensitivity and flipping between a modified coin program and a Combined program with Ferrous-Coin. I actually like running a little more discrimination when I coinshoot because these spots typically have more modern trash - foil, pull tabs, aluminim bits, can slaw - than just iron junk. Sensitivity stayed around 25 at site #1, and I was pulling 28 at site #2. Both sites had power lines immediately over head, as well as underground utility lines.
Between the two sites I ended up with 4 silver Mercury dimes, some change, and some Civil War relics. The deepest coin was 8" at site #1 and the deepest bullet was 9" at site #2. Both sites yielded coins and relics. There is still more of the steep hill to hit, I will have to Billy-Goat it now that the ground is fully thawed.
I also got out yesterday and did a strictly-relic hunt at a Yankee campsite. I will post about it in the Civil War forum. It is fun checking the Geohunt information afterwards; I like seeing where I walked and where my finds were concentrated. Video shot with my trusty smary phone.
