Relic or Not to Relic

Con

New member
Hi All,
I had a great find the other day a 1782 1 Reale. I was in the woods and was on relic mode. The spot I live in is somewhat of a colonial spot so when I go in the woods with my DFX I always run Relic mode because I though that gives the best depth. I am really looking for Musket balls or belt buckles, but also old colonial coins. Should I use relic mode or should I just use the Coin Jewelry mode in these spots. I do admit I really do not dig the iron hits when in relic mode but I'm afraid to miss something. What is your advice? Thanks for your help all

Not digging the iron hits will mean missing things at times. I have an MXT and I know that on some of the deeper signals (8" and plus) if it registers as iron you're better off digging it. Relic mode ought to work just fine and coins will still register in relic mode, if that's what's worrying you.
