Relic Hunting with Whites

Jerry Ga.

Member
The last Whites I owned was a 6000 di pro some 20 years ago. It was a good detector but seemed to be lacking in the depth department. I have used a few other "relic" machines in the ensuing years but have ran into instability problems with most of them even with the gain turned down. The "T" detector was the worst. My question is how much depth and relic sensitivity could I expect from the M6 or MXT with the stock coil in good ground along the southern coast ( Ga-SC )? Also has anyone relic hunted eith the 12" coil on the M6? Thanks for any info. Jerry, South Georgia

Jerry, I hunt in N. Bama with an MXT and some of this ground is pretty bad. You can expect 8" -12" on average, depending on soil conditions and size of your target. The MXT is a little bit more than just a turn on and go detector. Some people think its pretty noisy and unless you learn your machine and how to coax the most of out it, your impressions might be the same. However, its a very good machine that does require you spend time with it and learn it.

Thanks, Canewrap. That is great depth for that north Ala. soil. I'm thinking about trying one, too old to lug this heavy Naughty around anymore.
