relic hunting with the terra 50 in pinpoint mode

Was wondering if anyone has tried relic hunting in the pinpoint all metal no motion mode with the 50? What I mean is after U press the pinpoint button U are locked in that mode untill U press it again. I would think it would be good for those deep mini balls and buttons. If it's a shallow target u can switch over to all metal to imdentify target. If the signal is faint and deep U may not be able to indentify so U dig and hopefully it will be a keeper.
Just a thought.

That makes good sense as the GB mode will have a slight threshold and U would be able to hear any change even if it is slight One thing is if U don't keep the search coil at the same exact height all the time the tone will change. It might be tough to do.

thanks Jerry

If it's balanced to the ground there should be little change. Also, even in the prospecting mode of the X70 there would be a change until the SAT kicked in or the ground tracking. I was thinking about trying out the ground balance mode (with tracking on) on my X70, but haven't got around to doing so. ...Willy.
