relic hunting with the Explorer

I was wondering if anyone that has used the Explorer for hunting civil war relics could share their settings for relic hunting. Specifically, what iron mask settings do you use to locate buttons, bullets, and etc. I have primarily been using my Explorer for coin hunting and using the factory preset settings. Any information that you could share would be greatly appreciated.

Try this one.1/3 of screen blanked out.sens 27.iron mask off.sounds const.volume 10. gain 10.advanced mode.recover deep.responce normal. It seems to work pretty good in relic areas.

I use it for relics the same as coins, just hunt iron mask set -10 or less and depending on depth and ground use fast or deep.. if you get in some high iron areas you might want to use fast recovery and less iron mask with ferrous sound.. if there lots of tin and iron around you might want to try using a clear screen go to select and clear, then just reject nails nad crown caps... its a great relic machine

If you select ferrous sounds causing a low pitch to iron, why not go to the minimum iron mask -16 and listen to everything? Would this drive you nutty with too many sounds?

you can if you want to hear all the nails, I just never saw anything read that far left and be good.. also the far bottom left where crown caps come in will be giving coin tones, and I never saw anything good come in there either.. so if you knock out top left and bottom right you wont miss anything...and wont need to listen to nails and tin
