Relic hunting with the AT Pro

Could someone tell me what kind of depth to expect with the AT Pro on larger brass relics such as buckles and breastplates. I have never seen an air test done with items larger than miniballs.
In good ground it seems to be able to detect bullets in the 10 to 12 inch range from the videos and air tests that I have seen. Thanks

Jerry, I have been reic hunting for the last 8 months w/ the Pro and love it.I have not been fortunate enough to find a buckle or plate yet. I found a bridle rosette the size of a silver dollar at 8 inches loud and clear..I know one thing, the Pro loves the lead. I get a great tone on buckshot 6 inches down. Percussion caps 5 inches are loud also...I have found almost 100 minie balls dropped and fired here in our ok mississippi soil. Most of mine avg 5 inches but i have found some at 7.You may get a # in the 30-40s at first but the tone will be good. Dig on tone and not the #..Once you get some of the dirt out of the way, the # will go up (60-70)..

Lol air tests are BS. You ever see brass objects floating in the air when your out detecting? ATPro with the small coil is a excellent relic detector.

I agree, air tests are not accurate. You can subtract 1/3 the distance off the air test distance to get a general idea of in ground depth.

What I'm getting at is if this AT Pro won't detect something the size of a buckle or breastplate at 16" or more, then I can't use it and will

have to consider something else. An air test would give me a general idea of it's capability. The areas I hunt have been disturbed by

forestry operations over the years, and the relics are either near the surface or extremely deep.

I'm with Joe on the AT Gold in all metal mode for that kind of depth. That pup is sensitive!!
