Relic hunting with Tesoro uMax Eldorado

Anybody CW relic hunt with their Eldorado? I have one as a backup to my MXT, but I'm really thinking that I need to dig more of my targets and thinking that the Eldorado would be better for that, especially on an organized hunt, where speed and endurance are a real good idea. Comments ?!

I've used the Eldorado uMax for relic hunting and it did well. It was a relic hunting not a timed seeded hunt although it should be fine for that as well. Just remember to keep the discrimination low or hunt in all metal.

Thanks Pap, there shouldn't be much trash, so that's good advice. If the mineralization isn't too bad I'm going to use my 12X10 concentric for a little extra depth.

I don't live near CW areas, but I've hunted a number of old homesteads, logging camps etc. with the Eldorado. Good, very capable detector in my opinion and I have found a good number of relics with it. I also have an MXT and I especially like the tid when coin shooting, but the darn thing is way heavy compared to my Eldorado.

I was tempted with two opportunities to purchase clean examples of Monte's favourite detector, but just couldn't.

My insides wouldn't relax until I paid for a Cibola. Weight was seemed to be part of it.

Providence seems to be looming largely some how.

Whoa, where'd the philosophy come from? Must be the deep freeze wearing on me already.

Yeah, I know what you mean about the way heavy part. My right shoulder still hasn't recovered from the dry dirt digging and swinging of summer. I'm really considering trading in my MXT for a Tejon.

I belong to the "if one is good, two (or 3 etc.) is better" philosophy. If you can possibly afford it, don't trade, add another to the arsenal. Your wife will forgive you eventually. LOL
